The main entrance to the Amsterdamse Bos is at the crossing Van Nijenrodeweg/Amstelveenseweg. To the left of the main entrance you will find the Visitors' Centre 'De Boswinkel'. This is the place to go for information about all activities, buying souvenirs and any other questions. ‘De Boswinkel’ is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm (closed on Monday). The admission to the forest is free.
There are several ways to reach the Amsterdam Forest.
Bike
Take the bike from the city centre and cycle along several Amsterdam highlights to the Amsterdamse Bos in approximately 20 minutes. The Bos itself also has unique green biking trails through several attractions. It is possible to rent a bike at the main entrance of the Bos.

Public transport
Discover the Amsterdamse Bos with the Amsterdam & Region Day Ticket. This is a special 24-hour-/2-/3-day public transport pass valid on trams, buses and metros operated by Connexxion, GVB and EBS.
Amsterdam Central Station - main entrance Amsterdamse Bos
Buses depart every 5 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station (Prins Hendrikplantsoen). Jump off at the stop 'Amsterdamse Bos' near the crossing Van Nijenrodeweg/Amstelveenseweg. Visit 9292-ov.nl for information about which bus to take and departure and arrival times, or phone 0900-9292.

The museumtram
The museumtram departs from Haarlemmermeer station and has several stops along the Bos. The museumtram runs on Sundays and on holidays from mid-April to mid-October.
